Lebanese Cucumber
Native to the region of Pakistan, cucumbers may possibly be traced back to Burma
and India around 9000BC. Evidence of cucumber spores have been unearthed in Thai and
Burmese spirit caves indicating that thousands of years before formal agriculture existed, the early Asians offered up the cucumber to appease the gods. The phrase 'cool as a cucumber' is thought to refer to the fact that on a hot day, the inside of a cucumber will be about six degrees cooler than the outside air.
Benefits:
- Like all cucumbers, Lebanese cucumbers are naturally low in energy/kilojoules/calories.
- They are naturally fat free and naturally low in sugars.
- Lebanese cucumbers are a source of folate, for healthy cells.

Buying and Storing:
- When buying Lebanese cucumbers look firm and fresh, have glossy green skins, and absolutely no soft spots!

- Store your Lebanese cucumbers in a plastic bag in the crisper section of the fridge and don't forget - they will age faster if stored with fruit.
