Lychee Sauce Lychee Pork Chops Lychee Fizzer
Lychee Sauce
What you'll need
- 1/2 cup peeled, seeded lychees, finely diced
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlilc, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
- 3 dashes hot sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Method
- Combine lychees,tomato sauce, white wine, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, garlic, chili powder, hot sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder in a heavy saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, lower heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes or until thickened.
Lychee Pork Chops
What you'll need
- 4 boneless pork chops, 1 inch thick
- 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup strong chicken broth
- 2 cups whole or chopped lychees (preferably fresh, but drained canned lychees may be used)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Method
- Place pork chops between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound until they are 1/2-inch thick.
- Sprinkle both sides of pork chops with ground sage, salt, and freshly ground pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. When hot, add the oil, swirling to coat the pan.
- Cook pork chops about 4 minutes on each side until browned and just slightly rosy in the center.
- Remove pork chops from skillet and keep warm.
- To the juices in the pan, add the balsamic vinegar, chicken broth, lychees, and cinnamon.
- Cook about 5 minutes until reduced and thickened, stirring occasionally to scrape up the browned bits.
- Return warm pork chops to the pan gravy, turning to coat. Serve pork chops with the warm lychee sauce.
Lychee Fizzer
A Lovely refreshing beverage.
What you'll need:
- 400g fresh Lychees peeled and deseeded.
- 3 Limes quartered
- 1 Tblsp sugar
- 1 bottle of your favourite sparkling wine
- extra lime slices and Lychees to decorate
Method:
- Place Lychees, Lime and sugar in a plastic bag and bash out with a rolling pin, until fruit is nice and pulpy.
- strain juices into a jug and reserve, refrigerate till ready to use
- just before serving pour Sparkling Wine, fruit and reserved liquid into a large jug or individual Champagne Glasses
- Decorate with lime wedges and Lychee on rim of glass.
